"THINK" before you act... !!

Image
Once upon a time, a farmer had a goose that laid a golden egg every day. The egg provided enough money for the farmer and his wife for their day-to-day needs. The farmer and his wife were happy for a long time. But one day, the farmer got an idea and thought, “Why should I take just one egg a day? Why can’t I take all of them at once and make a lot of money?” The foolish farmer’s wife also agreed and decided to cut the goose’s stomach for the eggs. As soon as they killed the bird and opened the goose’s stomach, to find nothing but guts and blood. The farmer, realizing his foolish mistake, cries over the lost resource! What I Need To Say is :   Think before you act .  Your actions says more than our words. So before we act always think  twice. Also don`t be so greedy. Be happy with what god has given us and what god is giving us.  The English idiom “kill not the goose that lays the golden egg” was also derived from this classic story.     ...

In ancient Greek, there was a king named Midas. He had a lot of gold and everything he needed. He also had a beautiful daughter. Midas loved his gold very much, but he loved his daughter more than his riches. One day, a satyr named Silenus got drunk and passed out in Midas’ rose garden. Believing that Satyrs always bring good luck, Midas lets Silenus rest in his palace until he is sober, against the wishes of his wife and daughter. Silenus is a friend of Dionysus, the god of wine and celebration. Upon learning Midas’ kindness towards his friend, Dionysus decides to reward the keg. When asked to wish for something, Midas says “I wish everything I touch turns to gold”. Although Dionysus knew it was not a great idea, he granted Midas his wish. Happy that his wish was granted, Midas went around touching random things in the garden and his palace and turned them all into gold. He touched an apple, and it turned into a shiny gold apple. His subjects were astonished but happy to s...

The four SMART ones!

One night four college students were out partying late night and didn’t study for the test which was scheduled for the next day. In the morning, they thought of a plan. They made themselves look dirty with grease and dirt. Then they went to the Dean and said they had gone out to a wedding last night and on their way back the tire of their car burst and they had to push the car all the way back. So they were in no condition to take the test. The Dean thought for a minute and said they can have the re-test after 3 days. They thanked him and said they will be ready by that time. On the third day, they appeared before the Dean. The Dean said that as this was a Special Condition Test, all four were required to sit in separate classrooms for the test. They all agreed as they had prepared well in the last 3 days. The Test consisted of only 2 questions with the total of 100 Points. 1) Your Name __________ (1 Points) 2) Which tire burst? __________ (99 Points) Options...

A Tragic Love

Image
A girl wanted a ring. But the boy gave a teddy bear instead. In anger, the girl threw the teddy bear on the road. The boy went to take it but unfortunately was hit by a truck and died on the spot. At his funeral, the girl hugged the bear and the machine in it spoke, “Will you marry me?” Guess what she found? A ring inside it. It is a short  love story of love that could not bloom any more because of that tragic incident. It makes us realize that we do not have enough time and never know when we will breathe our last. So, What I need to say is:  It is best to let of the ego and the false pretenses and just make sure that you love without regrets and seize the day to live the fullest.                                                                -- PRIYANK MEHTA

A Wasted LIFE : PART 2

Image
Her spirit toils every evening as the night creeps forward and brings with it her greatest and most buried fear:   WHAT  IF  I  WASTE  MY  LIFE? As the doors of the day close in an unwelcome conclusion, she falls into habit again. She reaches for her book and finds her seat in the silent dusk. Time to take stock of another day. But this time, it’s not her charcoal that collides with her imaginary paper, it’s her spirit, so full of wanting, that collides with her Creator. She messily, yet beautifully, slips out of her chair and falls to her knees. In a flood of delayed recognition she realizes that the problem has not been the amount and number of her waste, but the object and place of it. Her deep wanting is not caused by wasted days but by an empty altar. She sees for the first time, and will now for all of time, that every second must be spent, not on hoarding her days, but on lavishing praise. This is the ...
